List: $9,700. MedCon: N. Kinemetrics digital seismometer. This unit records and detects seismic events. It is ruggedized for field use and semi-permanent installation. Each set includes 1 control box and 3 geophone seismometer detectors. Made by Kinemetrics of Pasadena, California. It is used for strong motion analysis of events in known seismic motion areas.

Some software is available from the manufacturer for strong motion analyst software package (SMA, designed for earthquake engineers, seismologists and academic researchers to process strong motion accelerograms.
