CAPD battery pack and power adapter - $450 takes all

List: $2,700. MedCon: VG. Travenol CAPD battery pack ( part no. 5C4312) and CAPD power adapter (part no. 5C4338). These serve as the power source for the Travenol CAPD germicidal chamber (also called UV-Flash germicidal exchange device) which prevents bacterial contamination in dialysis machines. The power adapter operates on 110/120 Voltage AC and provides 19 V DC output.

This bundle contains 7 battery packs and 3 power adapters.

Dialysis meter - $275 each

Includes flow transducer that has instrumentation for conductivity and temperature measurement. Powered by either a 9 volt internal battery or an AC / DC adapter. Dialyzer preparation system - $3,750

List: $23, 400. MedCon: Ex. Seratronics model DRS 4 D/ND dialyzer preparation and reprocessing system. Fresenius USA is a distributor for Seratronics. System appears to be new in 1996 or 1997. Recycles an individual's dialyzer for reuse. In this manner the dialyzer may be used up to 10 times per patient. It does not clean it for a different patient, rather, it is then clean for reuse by that patient.

This is an automated 4 station system which reclaims, tests and disinfects multiple dialyzers.

Dialyzer preparation system - $2,750 each

List: $14,900. MedCon: EX. Seratronics model DPS4. This is a 4 station automatic Dialyzer preparation system. Each station has its own controls, display board to show status, peristaltic pump, etc. 2 built in 2 place IV poles hold a total of 4 IV bags. Entire unit is on castors. Seratronics is either a division of, or is sold by, Fresenius.

These units run renaline. They clean up the dialyzer for each patient, so that each patient's individual dialyzer may be used again for that specific patient (the dialyzer may NOT be used for a different patient). On average, dialyzers may be reprocessed 10 times, saving about $15 per cycle, or $150 for each use.
