Dialyzer preparation system - $3,750

List: $23, 400. MedCon: Ex. Seratronics model DRS 4 D/ND dialyzer preparation and reprocessing system. Fresenius USA is a distributor for Seratronics. System appears to be new in 1996 or 1997. Recycles an individual's dialyzer for reuse. In this manner the dialyzer may be used up to 10 times per patient. It does not clean it for a different patient, rather, it is then clean for reuse by that patient.

System comes with the reprocessing unit, control computer, keyboard, monitor, printer, system stand, operator's manual, technician's manual, and complete system schematics. It also comes with 2 spill proof computer keyboards (a main keyboard and a spare).

This is an automated 4 station system which reclaims, tests and disinfects multiple dialyzers. The system does the following steps:

1. flushes the dialyzer with warm water and cleaning solution.
2. cleans the dialyzer using reverse ultrafiltration and bleach or hydrogen peroxide.
3. test the performance of the dialyzer by measuring ultrafiltration rate, total blood volume, and leak rate.
4. refills the dialyzer with disinfected solution in preparation for storage and subsequent use.

The data input terminal controls patient ID information, and allows the modification pass / fail criteria. System has a data management system for data entry and tracking. Overall system space requirements are about 50 square feet. Wired for 115 volts AC, 60 Hz. Shipping weight is about 275 pounds.
